A short 21 minute album pack full of the best hardcore has had to offer over the years. It will make you want to change the world.

In this world full of the same old generic boring hardcore, Boston's Have Heart have done something original. "Songs to Scream at the Sun" is way more than hardcore CD. This album is a spiritual journey into the depths of ones soul. This album will take you to the depths of your own persona and make you think about your own life, how you live it, and how you treat the ones you love. The songs seem to be connected in more than one way. With a similar theme of unconditional love that exists between family members. The albums bookends "The Same Son" and "The Same Sun" enclose that feeling of love and knowing no matter what happens you will always love your family, even if you want to hate them, or you don't want to be apart of it anymore. You will always love them
Singer Patrick Flynn's voice has seem to have matured since the bands last two CDs "The Things We Carry" and "What Counts" but it works with the album instead of against it, this is a much more deep, dark and metaphoric album. The lyrics have changed since "TTWC" and "What Counts" as well. The two previous albums where more about being true to yourself in an unkind world and using your own mind instead of conforming to what everyone else wants you to be. "STSATS" is more of Pats journal. Some songs seem to be a biography of the Flynn family and some seem to be a memorial to the ones he loves.
The musicianship in the album has also seem to have improved significantly. Although this album is a lot slower than their older albums and more heavy, which really fits the mood of the album. Which is dark and depressing at some times.
Overall the album is almost a masterpiece of hardcore, the only thing I didn't like about the CD was how short it was.

Have Heart is that kind of band that will be remembered in the future as one of the most powerful and contagious of the genre. With incredible lyrics and a sound that differs from the others, the Straight Edge band made its name inside the Hardcore impeccably. "Songs to Scream at the Sun" features everything the listener needs, as well as being accessible to all ears.

This is extremely mediocre to me. I don't get what all the fuss is about! My favourite thing about this is the album cover.

wow. first time i ever heard this, was pretty meh about it, but i was a hardcore n00b back then. since then, every time i've spun this cd, it gets better, and another different line sends a shiver up my spine. sheer raw emotion, distilled into 21 battering minutes. listen to 'no roses, no skies'. you won't regret it.
