| 4.0 excellent | Anthropophagist | February 15th 09 | If you have ever wondered what it would sounds like if a rabid bat was castrated while a building collapsed? If so, then I would recommend giving a listen to "Littered With Arrows," the debut full-length from Oklahoma City's technical death/grind band, Destroyer Destroyer.
Let it be said that Destroyer Destroyer is certainly not for everyone. Their first release since switching labels from Debello Recordings to GoodFellow, "Littered With Arrows" is a half-hour auditory apocalypse. A strangely gorgeous mess of discordant guitars - courtesy of Corey Ray and Mike Franklin - spasm and crash over the furiously hectic rhythm (I use the term in the loosest sense here) section provided by immensely capable drummer Noah Taylor and bassist Lucas McCray. The lyrics - incomprhensible for the most part - are actually quite interesting brief, often political, poems. When inhumanly screeched by vocalist Jamie Schnetzler, they become weapons - think Hamlet speaking daggers to the nth degree here.
Three of the songs will be familiar to Destroyer Destroyer fans as the first three songs from their Debello EP, "The Dead Sleep Like Us For A Reason." These re-recorded versions of "Horse-Drawn," "Dead Weight As Far As The Eye Can See," and "Error" are beautifully handled - they are also still some of Destroyer Destroyer's best songs. In tracks like "Trial," "Off The Beaten Path," and "Number Cruncher" show us a more melodic side of the band.
In general, pick this album up if you can stomach it. No matter what, give it a try - like ng out of a plane, it may be scary, but its also somehow fun.

| 5.0 classic | yoloswag420 | May 3rd 13 | Don't listen to these guys if you are having trouble with life, or you might just fuck it all and start the killing.

| 3.5 great | Smoochy | May 16th 10 | I don't care if this is considered "white belt scene grind". These guys can play some awesome chaotic music.
