the euphoria of unhindered abandonment of conscious self enlightenment. Laying down a framework of loose,
unfurling automated melancholy these instrumental soundscapes are anchored in an emblematic nod to Ingmar
Bergmans nom de simulaire filmic piece by utilising minimal beats to act as conduit.rIn short, considering I was
giving it a miss cos rival consoles sounds like an emo brat band pile of shite, this album has knocked me bollocks
off.

Delightful album start to middle to some songs in the end. Its latter half struggles to keep momentum going and feels more like waning of attention and focus than intentional flow continuation. Trim a few tracks off the back (say "Dreamer's Wake" "Rest" and the like) and and you'd have a perfect Rival Consoles album.

Persona unfolds itself as a suite of microhouse-slash-IDM tunes backed by techno beats, its density only matched by its minimalism. This ain't club music, these are headphones textures swelling up until they die out by exhaustion. Some tracks were, imso (in my shitty opinion), not unraveling enough climaxes to justify their lengths though.
