So 20+ years later, who gets to inherit this? Indie dorks or metalheads? It's one-of-a-kind. They may not have wizards on their album covers or whatever signifies "next levelness" in your dreary little niche, but there's a 99% chance Melvins in their prime could make better music than your favorite band while being waterboarded. Stuff like this proves shoegaze missed the point: you can swallow up the listener without a million guitar effects if you actually write songs.
