4.0 excellent | meenwolf131 | March 22nd 18 | extend band's dark nocturnal sense of soundscape into more cloudy synth-driven atmospheric r&b vibes / instrumental twisting between digital and organic elements to deliver bittersweet soft vocals

1.5 very poor | kylerez | April 12th 18 | The Neighbourhood's dark instrumentals and bland image has continued to be recreated after every album. Their 3rd official LP "The Neighbourhood" was thought to showcase a more mature band, as they fill in the missing pieces from the first 2 albums. However, this album proves that the band is still on a decline. With idiotic lyrics, bland instrumentals and a dark tone that does no justice. This album is a boring, dull, and long journey. A lot of promise came from the 2 EPs released before hand. "Hard" and "To Imagine" were both liked by the public, as the band took songs from both to include into their new LP. Sadly, the songs they added were the only ones that made this album a little enjoyable. "Scary Love" is lit with unique vibes and slick lyrics while "You Get Me So High" refers back to The Neighbourhood's past work. However, the new songs introduced on release day were nothing special, especially with all the added auto-tune. Towards the end of the album, everything goes from bad to worse. The album becomes even more boring and the less thoughtful lyrics begin to show their true form. At the end of the day, it is clear to see that The Neighbourhood are still having trouble committing to a full length album. It's evident that there is too many ideas, yet even with an increase on motive, it's hard to see them actually trying.

1.5 very poor | kylerez | April 10th 18 | The Neighbourhood has a unique sound, yet they continue to lack when it comes to making an album with decent pacing and quality. This album sounds like many songs just put together randomly. No consistent sounds, with immature lyrics and no instrumental spark. Album falls even worse off during the second half, which becomes both repetitive and boring.
