It?s actually pretty good outside the singles. ?Graffiti,? ?Forever,? ?Deliverance,? and ?Graves? are on par with their previous albums; however, parts of this album are kinda half-baked and thrown together, but it?s not the complete disappointment I expected after the singles. Also, why do my quotes always end up as question marks

It honestly isn't a surprise that this latest Chvrches record is a disappointment. Unlike Every Open Eye, it gets bogged down by forgettable repetition, an uninteresting aesthetic, and an especially dull final quarter. If more songs were like "Graffiti" and "Graves" this would be far better as those songs are everything a Chvrches song should be.

Some great moments, some really cringe worth moments, a lot of straight up boring moments. Never Say Die is one of their worst songs ever, but Graffiti is one of their best. An average effort.

This band went downhill really fast. Nothing really remains from their refreshing debut album, even Lauren's voice feels overproduced and a lot less cute than it was. A logical progression for an already wheezy Every Open Eye.

Chvrches are one of my favorite bands of this decade, and listening to this, which is as terrible as the singles and cover suggest, I had a thought. They're currently in the middle of a throwback to the 2000s beloved indie band career arc. 1st album: effortless, influential classic. 2nd album: sticks to the script of the 1st album with a few tweaks, not a classic but very good. the big fan's "best chvrches" album pick. 3rd album: bring in outside producers, stuck in a rut, sucks.

Some of these lyrics are pretty great, really relatable. Overall some songs don't fit the flow but i enjoy it nonetheless

I was a bigger fan than most of their previous record, but "Love is Dead" is definitely a step down even from there. It's just an OK, passably pretty synthpop record with none of the oomph of any of their previous bangers.

If they had released this first, then followed up with ?Every Open Eye? there wouldn?t be anywhere near this level of album-trashing. Even ?Forever? isn?t terrible, it?s catchy and listenable which is sort of all you expect from dreamy synth-pop. The songwriting and electronics aren?t as mature or interesting here, fewer layers and simpler leads. It?s fine, it just seems regressive enough it probably speaks ill for future releases.rUpdate: ?Never Say Die? is trash I could make in my living room

They're going for anthem sounds here, most of it works well enough. Surprisingly, the singles are the worst tracks on here(My Enemy, Never Say Die).

Their weakest album for sure but CHVRCHES haven't lost it just yet. They probably should have trimmed this thing down though. Love 'em, but 50 minutes of CHVRCHES is pushing it a bit.

It's not the total disaster I feared, but there's a disappointing amount of filler. For every "Graffiti," which belongs in the upper pantheon of their discography, there's two "Miracle"s. Also, "Forever" should never have been recorded.
