The album sounds better with each new listening, which proves its intrinsic quality. The second half is particularly interesting.

Modern Kalmah doing the same thing modern Kalmah's been doing since they switched from melodic overload neo-classical melodeath into more simplistic standard riffy melodeath years ago. It's good, I guess, but nowhere near as bombastic or excited as their first four albums.

Fits nice and comfortably with Seventh Swampony and 12 Gauge. Certainly not bad but doesn't do anything spectacular.

Roughly same quality as Seventh Swamphony but better, lacks standouts compared to 12
Gauge and The Black Waltz. It's pretty consistent throughout and packs a punch

I loved "12 Gauge". It was the balls-out heavy death metal version of Children of Bodom. Unfortunately, that is the only album in the band's discography to do it that well, and "Palo" doesn't change that. That doesn't mean it's bad, though. It's still a fairly aggressive romp through the band's power metal/death metal hybrid, and is easily the second best album in Kalmah's discography.
