| 3.5 great | nickslip | April 24th 18 | I was thrilled when they announced that they were doing a blues-rock record. The outcome
isn't quite what I had hoped for (they haven't written a decent set of lyrics since Folklore
rand Superstition), but it's a solid listen. First four songs and last couple are the best
rones. Special props to "Carry Me On Down The Road" - awesome 70's southern rock throwback.
Unfortunately, Blackberry Smoke does this style of music better overall.

| 3.0 good | Antonius | June 9th 18 | I found Family Tree to be an album full of radio-friendly and cheesy songs. There are lots of catchy songs such as "New Kinda Feelin'", "James Brown" and "Southern Fried Friday Night" however, I found the first single "Burnin'" to be probably the best song in the whole album. Lyrics are not the strongest point but production definitely is and this helps a lot to make this a coherent result. Folklore and Superstition still remains their best moment for me. Recommendations: "Burnin", "My Last Breath", "Dancin' In The Rain"
