Damon McMahon does really well to convey a lot of emotion in each and every track despite a fairly minimal and lonely sound. That is the single best thing about Freedom. The overall album is quite nice for a few listens but after that it feels like it needs some variation and there's not a ton to come back to for repeat listens. Very much psychadelic and americana feeling from the instruments but the voice on this album is what really makes it special.

Freedom has got psychy country guitar lines, a longing feeling, and a quite beautiful voice - so what's missing here? Hooks!!!!

Great album. I can not actually say anything bad about it, it's super consistent and just delivers. Very interesting I find the lack of typical songstructures on this record, the songs do not follow any specific pattern, but rather just flow. You would think that this makes them less memorable, but they are still very catchy, and part of it is due to catchy lyrics.

Very good, actually feels defined unlike some of the past works by Amen Dunes (IMO, kinda never wowed me like this.), I?m digging the vocal delivery and the song structures the most.

deliver such a spiritual poetic vibes within his ghostly bitter voices / dynamic groove-drive, psychy folky guitar flow and synth ambient create minimalistic layers that envelop all the emotional atmosphere
