Layers of Us is another excellent offering from Mimicking Birds. I may have given it a higher rating if I didn't love Eons so much. It was one of the few albums I've absolutely loved at first listen and still love today. Unfortunately, this album did not impress me as much. I'm sure much of that has to do with being more accustomed to their sound now. I'm fairly certain Layers of Us will continue to grow on me more; there's nothing wrong with the album. I guess I just have to say it bores me a bit more than their last album. Still, this is a crimininally underrated band. I'm happy to own both Layers of us and Eons on Vinyl.
