I write reviews and the like for another site. I was given Teller's press package a couple months after the release of the record. On the site (which I won't plug) for which I write, my writing often takes on a theme but I decided to do away with that approach for this album. rWhile this genre ages and people either buckle down on their opinion that the genre shouldn't change or demand all the change in the world, it becomes more difficult to stand out. Teller finds a way to stand out in a genre where a lot of bands seem to be OK with employing the loud-quiet-loud trope. In my opinion, any instrumental band that stands out in a very crowded genre deserves praise.
