Transcends time and space. When I first heard it, I knew I had something special. Even to this day no one has matched the intenseness and creativity in this album. Even to try to give a definite genre in hard rock takes away from its uniqueness. Simply one of the best.

"Where blood. And fire. Bring rest. And peace." Hands down the best scream-along moment in metalcore music. Rest of the album is amazing as well.

This is one of those, I'm meant to like it more than I do, or I feel I should because of the ratings here, but I just found the riffs to be plodding, and didn't find the overall style here either chaotic in the manner I prefer, nor all that compelling. Would have 3.5 this if not for Violet overstaying it's welcome severely.

Decent 4.5 - Extremely unique, powerfull, dark and intense. This is one of the few albums, that really fucks with my head, ,,Where Blood and Fire brings rest'' is dark astonishing journey to the depths of one's soul, the lyricism is only the first part of the journey though, as powerfull and mind-boggling as they are, they wouldn't be special if the vocal delivery wasn't so visceral, powerful, intense and creeping dark. I could talk for hours about how influential this release is for 98, than I could talk about how technically proficient is every member of the group, I could talk about how dark and precise is the production, but I do not want to...Just listen to this. IT IS DARK POWERFULL AND IT WILL PROBABLY GET YOU TO THE UGLIEST PART OF YOUR OWN SELF,AND FOR THE LAST 7 MINUTES YOU WILL CRY.
