Much better than Far From Lies. They went back to their hardcore roots and pumped out a very aggressive album. Ryan needs work on his screams though, he has a lot of potential though. The new bassist pulls some low growls that are impressive.

Vocally he's laughable, his screams are some of the most piss poor incoherent & weak I've heard in the genre. His cleans are reasonably passable at times, at others times insufferably mopey. The way this is produced leaves the vocals laden with bizarre effects & positioning in the overall soundscape as noted via LCD3, HD800 or LS50. Production is neutered, lacks any sense of levity & dimension. Guitars buzz along, very limp. Bass & the drumming are the best part of this band. Take the groove in If Only She Knew, a song with a Drive Like Jehu bass line, that had potential till the absolute gutter trash vocals completely destroy any semblance of enjoyment.

Greeley Estates may not be adding much to the modern metalcore scene, although as Go West Young Man, Let the Evil Go East indicates, they're an undeniably fun band whom possess an equal number of hits and misses. Ryan Zimmerman's vocal performance is a bit spotty in places and the second half of this album will make your patience grow thinner and thinner, but with these noticeable problems aside, it's still a pretty good release. Alex Torres can bring the riffs, I must say.
