Not the worst album they've put out in the past decade, but it offers nothing new, and is lacking in real spirit. Ministry used to be one of my favorite bands in the early 90's...but Al really needs to hang up his hat. He just rants about crap everyone already knows and doesn't put much effort into new or interesting music.

There are slightly redeeming musical qualities AmeriKKKant (is this 5th grade?) but everything about the vocals brings the album down into a pit that not many should venture into. The industrial metal base here isn't all that bad and if the vocal tracks, including the 11000 samples of Trump, were erased it would be hard to totally bash the mix of metal and electronics; sans the revival of scratching in metal here. The vocals themselves sound like a tired old man and the production only serves to make them sound even more distant, distorted and just worse. Reading the song titles it shouldn't surprise anyone what they are about to get into. Wargasm, as much as war sucks, serves as a parody of itself more than a true anti-war anthem; and some of the lyrics here are just so fucking awkward. We get it, you hate Trump, but after sample #666 the effect is sort of lost; he sounds dumb but what is this album actually accomplishing? If I was Trump I would use this as an example of the truly dumb things people are using to try to disparage me. Ministry have some industrial chops left but damn this album is like a rambling drunk uncle rant that makes Thanksgiving incredibly awkward.

One decent song here: Twilight Zone. The rest is either filler or outright crap. There is a serious lack of heavyness in this record. If this were Within Temptation or whatever soft metal band, I wouldn't have complained, but this is frigging Ministry. With the exception of his 80s stuff, pretty much everything he has released was rooted in a form of extreme metal. This is pure fluff, a clear point that Al is getting old for this. Metal is young man's game, and the fact that this old fart could pull it off into his 50s is nothing less than an achievement. However, FBtE should have been his real last album. As for the reason this album is bashed to such a high degree, it has nothing to do with the music, but with the message. Back in the mid 2000s it was acceptable and praise-worthy to be a mindless leftist Antifa -loving NPC. Today it isn't. The younger generation that is slowly eking its head is more conservative than the millennials, thus more weary of such message. They've seen and experienced the intolerance of the left far too many times to be fooled anymore. And it is not like Al changed. He has been the same for over 30 years already, writing the same old leftist-inspired Castro-worshiping lyrics, despite being Cuban-born.
