Angra's dedication to proggy, bright and uplifting symphonic power metal continues but they make the all familiar mistake of releasing way too much solid but nonetheless filler surrounding several damn good stand out tracks. This feels just like how Secret Garden felt in that regard, a bit of trimming around the edges would make it feel like less of a slog and more powerful. The addition of the legend Fabio Lione seemed like a shoe-in fit when it was announced but despite his talents he doesn't always seem to suit Angra's huge sound as sometimes it feels like two unstoppable forces colliding, it can be overwhelming. Black Widow's Web, Insania and Magic Mirror feel like the most natural tracks on the album and end up being the most memorable. I hope this combo works out the kinks and can focus on the entire album's flow as they just have so much potential.

This is fine but boy do I really miss their original guitarist (who's for some godawful reason playing for Megadeth). His absence is definitely felt in the underwritten guitar leads.

This is by no means a bad album, but lacks that special Angra magic that is present in the band's best efforts.

I've never heard Angra before but this album is amazing. Those vocals, that guitar
work, the composition, the stylistic depth, it all has that technically proficient
edge. It has that sweet blend of virtuosity and high quality songwriting to the point
that the songwriting is actually one of the most impressive parts. Every song has
something different to offer, the album is crafted in a satisfying way, the choruses
are all excellent and ear catching. The progressive flourishes add an impressive depth.
The mind bending guitar work and choruses make the replay value high. A showcase of an
album.

Fabio sounds better on this one. Bruno does an amazing job on drums. Overall, welll composed and produced. The only track I didn't digest easily was Black Widow. Best album since Temple of Shadows.
