After the decent Number 1 Angel, Charli really found her feet on Pop 2 in the hyperpop world. The tracks are catchy, the hooks are great, production is top notch, it just works really well. The guests here are mostly great and add to the enjoyment of this project and the use of auto tune is also very good. For me one of the best pop projects of the 2010s and an example of how a bit of experimentation, can shake up the pop world and make some darn good music. Score: 8.5/10

Ok yeah the prod on this thing is dope. It's like e x p e r i m e n t a l pop influenced by dance-pop, bubblegum bass, synthpop, r&b, wonky and everything in between. It's not particularly to my taste but I appreciate the effort to deliver such a different piece of pop.

The most metal pop album. I never felt so inclined to fight someone through an unabashed love song since maybe deftones. filled with guest appearances that feels like charli called everyone in her contact list, where the ones worth listening to shine on Charli XCX's album-form messily written love letter to the current pop scene. Even where vocalizations and guest appearances fall flat, the album has such a chaotic, spontaneous vibe to it that it manages to make the most of even the most cringe-worthy lines and hooks.
