They get an extra .5 for growling and dooming wearing a proper suit. Classy.

A 45 minute march down a seemingly endless pit as excellent vocals are supported by a rich mix of heavy gradual rhythms and melancholic, ominous leads. It doesn't take long to realize that Jon Aldara has some serious talents on the microphone as he drags you down with a mix of Akerfeldt-esque growls and striking, emotional cleans. Tamsins likam has the feel of a concept album like you are constantly being dragged towards a sombre and ominous objective and you just have to sit there and watch. Worth a listen for the vocalist alone but rewarding for fans of dramatic death influenced doom.

as expressive and impressive as the vocals feel, the instrumentation just isn't as interesting or colourful and feel left behind by the vocals' calibre of quality. sadly they only feel like a rather bland backdrop to a very impressive vocal performance with a narrative that sadly i can't tap into due to the language barrier. this honestly wouldn't matter in the slightest if the instrumentation did more to express the emotion of the music, but, well, it doesn't. it's definitely worth a listen but as far as doom/death goes it's pretty inoffensive and i kept waiting for the instrumentation to crawl out of being a mere background drudge but it outright refused to. shame.
