| 2.5 average | AlphaGoon | October 17th 18 | I can appreciate some of the things they're doing and the sound they're going for, even if its not for me, but the lyrics are average at best and they are just trying so hard to sound dark and edgy that it just comes of as forced.

| 3.5 great | snepsts | February 15th 18 | Cane Hill's biggest success is making their soft songs better, but they could use a lot more songs as heavy as Too Far Gone. That is where they are at their best. Great album all in all.

| 3.2 good | Trey STAFF | January 31st 18 | I really like the sound these guys have with the wall of guitars and prominent bass, but unfortunately there are only a few songs that actually take advantage of the crushing sound. I have a feeling their older albums are probably much heavier than this because it feels like they're taking baby steps towards trying to become mainstream.

| 4.0 excellent | suzcruzz | January 22nd 18 | Louisiana's ferocious Cane Hill has come back stronger than ever on their sophomore album, Too Far Gone. The singles leading up to the album, “Too Far Gone”, “Lord of Flies”, “10 Cents” and “It Follows” left me wanting more, and it was delivered. This album showcases Cane Hill’s evolution to a more mature, defined band that has never been better. Elijah Witt’s vocals have progressed, seen on “Lord of Flies”, “Why?”, “Erased”, and “Scumbag”. James Barnett’s riffs have just gotten better and better, and solos are still as on point as they always have been. Solos are seriously lacking in most modern metal/metalcore/nu metal/whatever. If they are present, they are usually short and boring. James’ solos are on the caliber of Kirk Hammett and Dimebag Darrell’s; wah-filled shred and Floyd Rose madness. Bassist Ryan Henriquez and drummer Devin Clark keep the rhythm section tight, maintaining the infectious groove. “Scumbag” is a short and chaotic high point of the album, yelling a giant “*** you” at Nazis. Cane Hill is bringing back all the best elements of 90’s metal and nu metal and making it their own. Originality is seriously lacking at the moment, and Cane Hill is essential to save the genre. Too Far Gone is the best release of 2018 so far, and I predict it will still come out on top in the future. And remember, this is only their second album. There’s much more headbanging, butt smoking bangers to come.

| 1.0 awful | ajcollins15 | January 20th 18 | Sorry if you find this good, I find it extremely boring and I would rather listen to korn or slipnot than this cane hill record, and I don?t like either of them that much either. They did a better job though
