I've never listened to Manic Street Preachers and i have to admit that i really need to check out the first records by these folks. My experience with "Resistance Is Futile" was a disaster and i don't think that i'm about to listening to this record again. I don't know how to explain it in words, but everything i feel bad inside Rock, i have found it here.

They feel so energised here. Sounds like they had fun making this. Vaguely experimental in places, but always catchy as hell. Some gorgeous pop-hooks here. And guitar solos aplenty. Nice to hear Bradfield letting loose, such an underrated guitarist.
