A bit of a change from TSOC but definitely incredibly melodic, catchy, and replayable. Aaron's still got it and it doesn't seem like he's going to lose his creative edge anytime soon. Rubicon Artist and By Far and Away are definite favorites so far.

I don't know what's changed since their previous LP but it's not for the best. Interchange the band name with Polyphia or any number of instrumental prog acts and you have the entirety of 'The Way Forward'. Inoffensive and bland, to be sure.

It's another Intervals album. The Way Forward is performed amazingly, and it's an
improvement from their last album. Unfortunately, nothing really sticks with me afterwards.

While this is certainly a good album, I couldn't help but feel like something was missing. I don't know if that something is a vocalist, or if I just feel that this would be better as a game soundtrack, or something along those lines. Additionally, by the end some of the songs end up sounding a bit samey. I don't mean to sound overly critical, but I guess that just shows how highly I regard The Shape of Color.
