| 2.5 average | Jared Floryan | September 5th 14 | (10/22/18): For all the faults it had, You'll Rebel to Anything was quite possibly the best sellout record Mindless Self Indulgence could ever hope to conjure up. Despite its relatively streamlined approach and (by extension) tighter control on chaos, that album retained the crassness of the band's earlier output; the full-length also more or less kept the entertainment value high. Unfortunately the same can't be said for If, which I feel marked a point in the act's career where they were really losing whatever edge was present on the preceding release. Between "Lights Out" and "Get It Up," MSI's fourth LP featured what was easily some of their worst material, and this particular statement holds water even today. Though not a bad synthpunk/industrial rock offering had this have been anybody else's first or second studio effort, it was a disappointing, unironically tasteless Mindless album that housed nuggets of former glory (e.g. "Revenge," "Animal," "Bomb This Track," "Mark David Chapman"). Decent 2.5

| 3.0 good | Maxwell1981 | November 12th 12 | If I were to place MSI's records in a sideways T-shape, I would start with 'Tight' at the Center. 'Frankenstein Girls' would be a step forward, and 'Rebel' is a step to the side. honestly, I'm sorry, but I have to place 'If' a step backward. They've lost that luster they had back in the early years. They have a new record coming out in March 2013, and I'm a little scared to see how this one turns out.

| 3.0 good | theBlackWidow | July 4th 10 | Good review...I agree with some. Songs like "Get it Up" is just plain stupid...but it is MSI haha. I deff. don't think this album is better then "You'll Rebel to Anything" but, it's still a good album.

1) Never Wanted to Dance
The opening track, and a great one. The vocals remind me of older MSI, with a mix of there "New" stuff. Great opener.
5/5
2) Evening Wear
A pretty good track. A bit forgettable though. Not the best, but definetally not bad
3.5/5
3) Lights Out
My personal favorite off this album. The chorus is reminecent of Pop acts, and adds a great sing-along feeling with a great flow
5/5
4) Prescription
I personally like the verses with the acoustic guitar in the background. Great song
4/5
5) Issues
This is where the album starts to falter. One of those "Filler" tracks. Not great
3/5
6) Get It Up
This one's just plain stupid. I don't know why it was on the album. Just a bad song
2/5
7) Revenge
Another decent track. The demo version was much better though.
3/5
8) Animal
This is where the album get's back on track. A great song.
5/5
9) Mastermind
The first single off the album, and a good one at that. A bit slow though. Never really picks up
3.5/5
10) On It
Another "Filler" track. Really nothing redeaming here. Move along
2/5
11) Pay For It
An awesome song. Along with "Lights Out" is my favorite
5/5
12) Due
A short song. Somewhat entertaining.
4/5
13) Money
Another "Filler". I see they tried to experiment with more guitar, but it doesn't really work.
2/5
14) Bomb This Track
Great. Just great. Reminds me of something off of Frankenstien Girls.
5/5
15) Mark David Chapman
Lyrics we're written by the fans, and boy, did that work. Great closer

| 3.0 good | applesoup | June 11th 08 | I could say i was very dissapointed with this album but that would be lying.
I enjoyed this album, it is fun and still explicit as ever. But they have lost some of the edge they once had. There is less hip-hop influences and more disco fuelled songs, which is one thing that did dissapoint me. Their riduculous and pointless lyrics are still evident throughout this record, and that makes it fun.
I think that one of the songs i thought that was particularly cringeworthy was 'never wanted to dance', the starting lyrics made me feel shame towards mr urine..
Overall i would say its a good album, obviously not their best, but i'm sure new fans will enjoy it especially

| 4.0 excellent | MrElephant | May 5th 08 | After a long absense the newest MSI brings something fresh without being disappointingly different. While some songs have a bit of a cringing moment, like halfway through "Mark David Chapman" where the music slows down for a mocking sketch.
Some great tracks stand out like "Bomb This Track" and "Never Wanted to Dance" as well as some returning legends like "Revenge" which now has an accapella intro by Lyn-Z, Kitty, and a couple other girls. Overall great album
