We're halfway through february yet and "Little Dark Age" is already one of the best albums of the year for me. Colorful, expansive and completely contagious, MGMT's latest release is one of the best pieces of music i've ever heard. The mixture of feelings and genres marries well with the inspiration of all the members. It will not be the best album of the year, but it will be on several end-of-year lists.

This is actually the first MGMT album that actually stands out. I was expecting this to kind of be bland and uninspired, but they really did a good job.

MGMT have had quite the journey: started out making fun of earworm tunes by writing the most infectious songs imaginable, proceeded to overstay their welcome and try to write the same kinds of earworms but quite seriously now, to this time around maturing enough to find the proper balance.

my favorite songs of this album are little dark age , when you die and me and michael.... rating every track on https://rateyourmusic.com/~DreamyWitch .... Conclussion : this album is not the worst ( it's only my opinion of course) but still i really love those three songs

I really like certain songs from this, but I feel like they get annoying quickly and it doesn't work amazingly as an album. When You Die is such a bop tho.

MGMT finally leave their personal "Little Dark Age", with a fun and creative new direction. Some tracks are filler, but most the tracks have their own identity despite being a weird combination of synthpop and folk/indie.

Little Dark Age is living proof that MGMT are no longer living under the shadow of their "big three" singles. After some psychedelic misfires, the duo retook the indie scene with a dark but insanely catchy album. Creating a record that feels more like an "MGMT project" than any other output, the group seem to be confident as ever, and personally, I find it inspiring that they have been able to redefine themselves. Let's just hope they are here to stay as a powerhouse with their next release.
