My dad threw this into the player yesterday, and I expected it to suck. Contradictory to my expectations, I was treated to quite a nice Slipknot-esque ride.

All and all, Bizkit is pretty decent, this is their best album ive heard. Fred Durst isnt that bad a screamer, I like this way better than his rapping. His lyrics kinda suck. Really though, Counterfeit is the bomb.

I bought this album when it came out because I really liked Rage Against the Machine and the fusion of hip hop and metal. Needless to say this was very far off from anything Rage had ever done. This just didnt grow on me, I didn't like the style at all. However I did like the Faith cover plus Counterfeit and Pollution weren't bad at all.

Just pitiful. That's all I have to say. Some of the lamest rock music ever produced, combined with the lamest rapping of all time. These guys are pathetic.

This album is the most pure expression of unfiltered white trash rage. it rules for that reason alone. It's hard to match that kind of raw condensation of a feeling or an idea. Of course, this band probably did that by accident, cause the rest of their work is lackluster at best.

A band that was trying far too hard to become a mellow Rage Against the Machine or angry Sublime... Where instead of angrily complaining about their governmental & militarized oppression as Rage had, this band tackles the oppressions & shortcomings of being a teenager. I guess every decade of the popular music suffers from this over-saturation of one genre and making the effort to differ amongst the duplicates makes this effort all the more exhausting. Aside from these mediocre lyrics, the low production also doesn't really add any value to this album. If anything I find it annoying how I have to turn up the volume to hear their tuned-down riffs and verses... Then again, this IS one of those albums that spawned out imitators, so that has to count for something (even if those imitations are even worse than this album).

(1/1/19): Prior to any ego boosts or giant controversies, Limp Bizkit on their debut studio offering were five guys who performed in an unpolished, frenetic nu-metal style. With 13 tracks altogether, Three Dollar Bill, Y'all$ had a darker, less refined sound than the majority of the LB records that would follow, with the hip hop influence having been understated (albeit present), too. This full-length made for an interesting first impression, and checking it out now is even more intriguing in light of acquiring the knowledge concerning all future releases. Those that have a difficult time stomaching the group's stealth parody element (and by extension, Fred Durst) might wanna give LB's freshman affair a chance... and even The Unquestionable Truth. Decent 3.

Notable cringeworthy moments: "YOU WANNA PLAY THAT GAME, BITCH?!?" "You're so much better than me - YOU SUCK!" and other similar sentiments that sound like they're being echoed from the hallways of a junior high school. Otherwise, I found this to be somewhat irresistibly enjoyable, in a crude and depraved sort of way. Perhaps it's the 13-year old in me.

Best Limp Bizkit album ever recorded. Yes Fred Durst is a douchebag and yes Wes Borland is a bit weird, and I hate him for taking the mick out of Dream Theater, but this is a good album.
