| 1.5 very poor | Manqaness24 | June 10th 12 | I liked only one song on this album i lucifer the self entitled track. Everything else sounds generic and dull.

| 3.5 great | Hastetheday09 | February 25th 09 | I, Lucifer is a nice departure from Saints. A lot more melodic for sure. Chad's singing voice is pleasant, but there's just something about it that makes the songs a tad boring. I like when the guitars are playing melodic parts, it makes the song feel like it's just floating out there. The drums have some nice patterns (i.e. Crumbs For the Murder, A Bag Of Marbles) When the album gets heavy, it doesn't sound a whole lot like Saints, which is good, except for the starting of Luxuria. Other than that, it's a good sophomore effort, and i'm curious to see what they do next.

| 4.0 excellent | YouAreMySilence | December 27th 08 | One of the year's biggest surprises is all so one of Solid State's last straws before obscurity. While Solid State continue signing various terrible, uninspired and mediocre metalcore bands (MyChildren MyBride) Destroy the Runner completly ditches that formula for a Hard Rock/ Metal sound that isn't without it's flaws but the cons definetly outweigh the cons. The screaming takes a back seat to melody and they get rid off they're boring lyrisism for ummm better lyrics, creating a fantastic stepping stone for one of the most hopeful hard rock bands to come out of Solid State since Blindside.

| 4.0 excellent | stephenhannibal | April 18th 08 | This album is pleasantly surprising... it's everything i hoped for from the first record.
while the first album had maybe one or two good tracks this one hits right on the mark. the instrumentation is slightly more creative than the previous effort.
it's chill metal if thats even possible....

| 4.0 excellent | sn0manb0b | April 16th 08 | This album is a lot different than the previous record. While Saints had more screaming vocals over singing, this record is very melodic and has limited screaming. I was a little disappointed at the lack of screaming especially after hearing the track "Crumbs for Murder" which is probably the heaviest song on the album. Even though the screaming has changed in sound and in quantity, the new melodic vocals work perfectly and Destroy the Runner has a more unique feel to them compared to the generic screamo band label they attained with the last record. All in all, very different from the last album, but still very good.
