Intellegent and touching while keeping the tension thick, Mark Kozelek is so lucky that he has such a gift because his creativity is running on low, very low. The positives are obvious with songs Lost Verses and Tonight The Sky that are slow moving while being emotionally driven keeping the lyrisism charming and the atmosphere dark, but it won't be long before the negatives out weigh the positives. Most of the songs go on for to long and the biggest problem is that the diversity from anything he has ever done is slim to none. For now though April is a gorgeous but haunting record that will challenge you emotionally and touch you deeply if you give it a chance.
