It says doom/stoner metal on the label, but I can hear some heavy/thrash and even some melo death influences in the songs. All of these though make one hell of a good debut album.

DVNE's debut is spotty, but carries so much energy and infectious writing for a proggy stoner album that you can't help and love it.

Sweet proggy solis + pounding sludgy riffs = one of the best stoner records of the decade. Kudos for the magnificient art too.

This is really cool. The instrumentals are phenomenal and remind of Mastodon at times, but with a myriad of additional influences ranging from psychedelic to black metal. These make the album quite unique and really a worthy listen - and re-listen. The one problem I had with this was the singing. There are two types of vocals on this album: the not so bad harsh ones, and the annoying ones. Clean vocals sound amateur and to me they just ruin the instrumental epicness going on in the background. Still, they seem to be less used in the second half of the album, and they are not too invasive even in the first half. 3.9

I would say it has some progressive and sludge metal too...amazing album! I would say this is a kind of early's crack the Skye Mastodon with sludgy Neurosis. Gotta keep an eye on these guys. Thank you users from sputnik for putting this in some of your 2017 lists.
