There are a couple of bangers here ("Run for Cover" and "Tyson vs Douglas" which are back2back which is both cool and mega lame) and a bunch of trite dancey pop rock that do their worst attempt at a Springsteenian album.

I can't really put my feelings into words, but listening to this just felt wrong. It feels like an uncalled-for attempt to be more pop and be put on the radio, it's a got a very pop sound, and I don't understand why. The Killers were already popular, their non-pop songs are already more popular than some modern pop songs. At this point in their career, I find it weird that they make an album like that. To me, it feels like an attempt to get more fans, but it's too late. I don't see the point of this album. Every song is kinda the same. I won't be revisiting this.

The Killers lose their unique edge, producing an average by-the-numbers indie pop album. There are seeds of something truly special, the experimental title track and "The Calling" show this, however the rest of the album strays far from what these tracks say and do.
