I'm sorry guys, but I enjoyed this one better than St Elsewhere. It's both Cee Lo and Danger Mouse on the top of their games! Personal favorites: "Blind Mary", "Who's Gonna Save My Soul", "Going On" and "Neighbours".

Who's Gonna Save My Soul, Run (I'm a Natural Disaster), and Blind Mary are some of Gnarls Barkley's best works. Is the cover an homage to the Mother series of videogames (Earthbound, stateside)?

Extremely inconsistent. It has some good, some catchy and some downright horrible songs. "Whatever" should have never even been made into a song. Anyways Cee-lo's voice could've been better on this album but overall the singing and the beats were alright.

After thoroughly enjoying St. Elsewhere in all its craziness, spontaneity, and originality, I find The Odd Couple to be rather...stale. With an emphasis on the soul aspects of their debut, and an extremely unnecessary calm down, Gnarls Barkley's second album is pretty much a party pooper compared to their first one. It's technically good, but that's not what Gnarls Barkley is supposed to be. 2.4/5

St. Elsewhere was a debut worthy of the heaps of praise it accumulated from the press, a eclectic, diverse arrangement of alternative hip-hop mixed with Danger Mouse’s extraordinarily experimental production and Cee-Lo’s oddball lyrics and fluid phrasing. The Odd Couple is pretty much St. Elsewhere redux, and considering the potential within these two guys, it’s unerring sameness is frustrating.

This is the first full length album I've heard and I thought it was memorable. Every song seems to have its own sound. From tribal beats to a 50s beach party. I haven't listened to all of St. Elsewhere yet so my opinion might change, but I doubt it.
