Loved it when I discovered it way back then, still love it now, and it's way catchier than I remember. To be hardcore is quite easy in fact: don't use any pedals but play angry short riffs as loud as fucking possible. As short as it is essential.

It's insane how many things you can do in 5 minutes.
Don't get me wrong this album keeps it really simple, musically it really doesn't do much in 5 minutes...but considering the whole scene that this record spawned, this might be one of the most influential punk records ever written.
''Nervous Breakdown'' is great punk rock record, that might wear it's influences right on it's sleeve ''Sex pistols, Clash'', but it does more than your typical punk rock record, this record brought the focus on simplicity and getting your point across, while focusing on faster, louder and ''edgier'' side of punk music...this album is your first official hardcore record...
Ps: ''Nervous Breakdown'' is the introduction to this more ''distorted'' and higher in the mix guitar sound that is basically copied by every 80s hardcore punk band.

The only major complaint about this EP is that there isn't enough here. What is here, however, is almost flawless. The title track is one of the catchiest songs I can remember hearing.

In 5 minutes, this band has managed to captivate my ears, and I can replay this thing 10 times over. It's too bad the CD industry sucks, and i'd probably have to pay $20 for these short 4 tracks.
