Naveed is a great debut album by Ontario-based rockers Our Lady Peace. Musically, this sits somewhere between the raw power and sheer energy of grunge and the more polished production values of post-grunge. Raine Maida's animated vocals, Mike Turner's heavy guitar work, Chris Eacrett's rhythmic bass lines, and Jeremy Taggart's thunderous drumming, deliver a coherent and solid set of tracks that is accessible and easily digestible. The album's best moments are concentrated in the first half, while the second half contains some decent bangers as well ('Dirty Walls', 'Denied', 'Julia'). Tony recommends: "The Birdman", "Naveed", "Supersatellite", "Julia", "Starseed".r
