mostly metal riffs laid out in conscious songwriting with not completely incongruent hardcore screams make this album peak mccore, but even that is unnecessarily ruined by momentum destroying classic metalcore breakdowns

Rather than having a Hardcore Punk sound that's heavily metal influenced like "Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire", this album has a straight forward Metalcore sound.

Some excellent tracks but a bit too lengthy and filler-oriented to match their classic debut. But songs like "Unloved", "Hollow Ground", "Final Prayer", "Smash Your Enemies" and the perfect opening 5 tracks make this album WELL worth it.

Perseverance shows that Hatebreed aren't afraid of being a clear contender for the most blunt, in your face metal-influenced band out there, which works well during the fast parts but during the slower, more paced out sections, the album loses a lot of steam.
