Halsey's obnoxious vocals - that kinda delivery peaked in 2012 when Avicii and Calvin Harris ruled the industry, too late for her ig - continue to ruin bad-to-mid beats on a sophomore record that show little to no progression.

Unlike most im not prejudge against her image, i wanted to like this, but she refuses to paint an
interesting character for a narrative (unlike say Janelle monae) embrace pop hooks and lush
production ( unlike lorde, Carly rae Jepsen or even lana del rey).She attempts to paint it as some
grand Shakespearean story but in reality it has little or nothing to do with anything , this may
be grand and important to her but comes of as pretentious and uninteresting to the listener
pulse you have to do extra research just to understand it outside of a few standout tracks and
decent production this album falls flat not awful but nothing to come back to
favorite tracks; bad at love, strangers, walls could talk, good morning and prologue
least favorite: pretty much everything else but especially now or never and hopeless
