Albums exist to be made available to the public, especially for those who are the designated listeners. Dr. Acula's debut record - S.L.O.B. - was something that should've never been official, and nothing but the ugly truth. I actually found myself chuckling at some of the songs presented here, but not due to the bandmates trying to be comedic; I chuckled because all of this was blatant nonsense. Sure, the final track - "Legend of the Lost Legend" - has a FEW hope spots, but these backfire whenever you get to the annoying pig squeals and half-hearted vocals in general. I'd rather witness R.L. Stine getting beat up by a pack of dysfunctional wolves, all of them possessing an odd craving for monster blood.

If See You Next Tuesday, HeavyHeavylowlow, Waking The Cadaver, and Psyopus sounds like a dream lineup, this album is for you. If you just threw up in your mouth, avoid this release at all costs. A mixture of death grunts, spoken word, and cliche' metalcore-esque vocals, S.l.o.b. by Dr.Acula is a grindcore album for those with a sense of humor. Looking at this in terms of quality, it is terrible; however, this album is one of those "so bad it's good" type albums. Be wary when purchasing since this is not good music, just relatively interesting.
