3.5 great | snepsts | November 5th 17 | My man Eric July pushes out some good ass libertarian-right music. The album is extremely diverse and an breath of fresh air in the over-saturated left-libertarian atmosphere of metalcore/nu-metal/rap metal.

1.5 very poor | DatsNotDaMetulz | April 6th 17 | The music's decent enough, but the lyrics make it almost unlistenable. I could write an essay on why anarcho-capitalism fails both in theory and in practice, but I'll spare everyone that ordeal.

1.0 awful | Rolling Girl | April 4th 17 | As far as rap metal goes Backwordz have one of the most well crafted executions sound wise in years. But I just can't get passed these damn lyrics.

1.0 awful | cloakanddagger | September 30th 22 | This band could've been great, but the vocalist subscribes to a failed ideology that would never
work in practice, and it's impossible to look past the lyrics he writes.

2.5 average | Jared Floryan | April 4th 17 | Featuring a total of 18 tracks all while lasting 66 minutes in length, American nu-metalcore/hip hop project BackWordz' debut studio album really doesn't justify its runtime. Veracity packs more than enough fat that could've used trimming at the end of the day; not helping matters is the lack of variation throughout the bulk of the material songwriting-wise. Adding to those apparent flaws, the lyricism comes off as maladroit and about as subtle as an oak tree falling into your neighbor's moat. On the other hand, though, Eric July's performance is rather potent with the musicianship also doing a nice job befitting his utilization of rapped and screamed vocal deliveries. BackWordz manage to demonstrate promise here, but haven't quite unlocked their potential yet. Again, if they plan on adopting a more "quality>quantity" approach in the future and July tones it down regarding the on-the-nose lyrics, I feel like this band could go places.
