This album is by far his best album since Gossamer. The experimentation and imperfections within the production wasn't something I was expecting to be as prevalent in a Passion Pit album as it had turned out to be, and it actually worked well together with the brutally honest lyricism and the album's concept as a whole. Highlights for me are "Somewhere Up There", "Hey K", and "For Sondra (It Means The World To Me)".

More like a 3.7, Passion Pit tweaks its formula slightly, comes back with a record more lyrically strong, and dare I say, sonically experimental, than Kindred. Best tracks are To The Other Side and Somewhere Up There, along with Inner Dialogue.

This is a return to form. TSOL has all the chipper electronic chaos and heartfelt lyrics you'd expect from Passion Pit, but now with added variety and dynamics that Kindred was sorely lacking. The mood swings from intimate ("For Sondra") to addictive pop bangers ("I'm Perfect") smoothly. "Somewhere Up There" is the most experimental song in Passion Pit's discography and one of the best, soaring to euphoric heights with no need for a chorus. It's a bit short at 35 minutes, and it leaves the listener wanting more.
