| 3.0 good | Voivod STAFF | August 14th 17 | Listening to Trial's third album, makes me wonder if it's worth it at the end of the day, for all music "journalists" out there, to draw prospective bands from obscurity, so that music industry's "powers that be" handle things from there onwards. To the utmost disenchantment of all who already regard Vessels as a heavy metal classic of the '10s, its adventurous/genre-hopping cult, has been largely decimated in favour of a straightforward, albeit bare bones classic metal route that pales in comparison. The only cut acting as the sole bearer of Vessels' ardent spirit, is the mystifying "Birth", which simply can't carry on its own a good album (overall) standing in the thick shadow of its predecessor.
