The sad thing is they could have sounded better than this. I can hear how this has too much restraint that they're on the verge of choking. I'll try to let this album seep in for now.

KURT WHERE ART THOU? Tbh it's still adolescent post-hxc, but Kurt Travis did have a certain something that made these guys stand out. Here it's just post-hxc that's both too dramatic and a tad underwhelming.

This is depressing. Not the albums tone, just the fact that it's not very good. There are some
truly terrible songs on this album. "Always Burning, Always Dark" started things off badly,
luckily the next 3 songs were slightly promising, but all hope was lost when some more horrid
tracks found their way into my ears. "Atoms in Evening" and "The Smoother the Stone" aren't just
bad, they deserve to rot in the deepest darkest pits of hell. "From Moon to Son" is pretty cool
thought, as is "Infinite Chances".

Could use a bit more (and a whole lot louder)
screaming and a bit less of those floaty-
mellow passagess but otherwise, stellar work. Goes to show how overrated Kurt is. Still a
supreme being, but overrated. Cory and Matt
handle the vocals amazingly.

Way better than the singles, and has a pronounced TREOS circa The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi influence in a lot of places. The last 3 songs in particular are really impressive. Some lame lyrics and samey progressions, but not at all the trainwreck I was worried it would be.

Holy shit! Good stuff. Really feels like a grower, but there's some immediate songs that stand out. The bass surprisingly steals the show here on a lot of tracks. Not a huge fan of the filler spoken word (though I know that was an ALLB staple)
