An impressive return to form for a band that I genuinely thought I'd never like or listen to again.

If you had told me that I'd be listening to the new Seether record in 2017 when the year started, I'd have called you crazy. Just goes to show that favorable reviews can pique curiosities. Poison The Parish isn't anything stylistically different than what they've always done, but one cannot help but notice that the quality has risen back to the days of Disclaimer, which was certainly the band's heyday. Still, there's not a whole lot to say about this record that one wouldn't already know going into it. "Betray And Degrade" is the best kind of Seether, where things are a bit softer and the choruses are catchy. The harder tracks here are sort of boring, but that's to be expected. Still, there's more decent stuff here than boring, and if you're already a fan of Seether and the like, you'll find things to love here.

Not too bad of an album, a return to a younger Seether, but I had the same perplexity as I had when I rated Korn's The Serenity of Suffering: the listener UNDERSTANDS (insert band name here - Korn/Seether), you ARE capable of crafting such an album. My question to both albums still remains: how & why wasn't this album crafted in OVER A DECADE of prior albums of mediocrity?

I'm in sick love with "Stoke the Fire". It's something i like in Seether. Best album from them so far. Nope best album from them eva.
