For the second time Deep Purple show us they don't need Blackmore to make a kickass rrecord. This album has a little bit of everything, but never once feels unfocused of reclectic. Definitely up there with their best material.

This was the first Morse DP album and was a departure from prior work as well as having a consistent high level of performance and including new classics like Ted the Mechanic, Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming, Cascades, Rosa's Cantina and The Purpendicular Waltz. Sadly none of the albums since have come close to this.

A rather useless release. Not that the album was bad, but it didn't necessarily do anything except keep the band going for a little while longer, creating even more bland albums. This band's fate was sealed long ago, and aside from their latest 2005 effort, this album was the final curtain for a great rock band for the ages.
