Some of the tracks on here, like Cowbell's, have an almost progressive metalcore feel. The vocals are strong, but don't overpower the definitely strength in guitar work and drum work. Their later albums, unfortunately, don't carry through with that same "badass" creativity and experimentation.

The vocals are killer, it's a real shame they lost the guy. The southern rock/post hardcore style riffs are jaw dropping. This is one of the best EP's I've had the privilege to own. If you haven't yet, make sure you go listen to "History of Mercia"!

Memphis May Fire, a band connecting the difference between Underoath and Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster create a southern/metalcore sound that disapoints in varying areas. Though shines in many others, giving this band a bright future.

For a 5 song e.p. this the best i've heard since Bullet For My Valentine's Hand Of Blood. Memphis May Fire is definitely better in terms of musicianship. The vocals are outstanding, with the lead vocalist screaming his heart out. He can also pull of great clean vocals. The guitarist also pulls off some great backup cleans to make dual harmonies with the lead vocalist. The guitar is pretty sweet, with the hardcore riffs, mixed with southern styling riffs, it makes an excellent combination. The Drums are great just like the guitars. Vocals are definitely the highlight. Even though the lead vocalist is gone, I can't wait to see what the new one brings.

This is one of the best new bands I've come across recently. The singing and screaming is very good, the guitarist is absolutely amazing (!!!), the bass isn't buried under the music like a lot of bands seem to do, and the drumming is great (love the cowbell part in Cowbell's Makin' A Comeback)
Although there are alot of post-hardcore/screamo bands out there, Memphis May Fire immediately got my attention with their unique sound, because although they are a post-hardcore band, they mix post-hardcore, southern rock, and other influences to make something AWESOME.
This is a great EP, and I really mean it when I say, if you have the chance to buy this, DO IT.
Oh, and just so you know, their vocalist Chase Ryan left the band for family reasons, so they are looking for a new singer. Alot of bands that get a new singer end up sucking, but the music here is so good that they will still be amazing

This is a great little ep from a genuinely exciting sounding new band. A great mix of catchy but heavy post-hardcore, mixed with southern rock, topped off with great vocals. Pity the singer has left, hopefully they will find a replacement as he was a big part of my draw to this band.
ps; 'History of Mercia' is a classic.

Catchy, heaps of screaming. Decent music.
Couldn't ask more if you're into post hardcore.
Vocalist has a great voice. Would love to see what they do with an LP. Hopefully post hardcore fans find this band, Decent sound production as well.

This is a debut EP that shows promise and is fun to listen to. The mix of Southern Rock elements, Alternative Rock and Post-Hardcore works quite well, including elements and influences from Everytime I Die and Van Halen. The band knows when to step on the gas, and when to slow down. Nice.
The production is solid, and makes a good impression over the 19 minute playtime. The band won't have it easy though, as there are quite a few bands that play at least remotely this style of music. If they can gain a big enough audience to remain will the future tell.
