I haven't sensed this much lyrical conviction or disturbance concerning religion since Come Now Sleep. The turmoil churning within the lyricist's uncertain beliefs becomes as tangible as the air we breath through his achingly desperate vocals, so much so that it is occasionally hard to listen to. It's a shame Colour Revolt couldn't replicate the creativity and mastery of the music into a consistent full-length, or else this band could have been something extremely special.

The first thing that struck me after listening to the first few songs on this record is that Colour Revolt really has flow. Their transitions are flawless, and I give most credit to the drummer. The drums in "Matresses Underwater" help lead perfectly from the verse to the chorus. The guitars have great tone throughout the record, experimenting with different textures like reverb and delay.
The vocals match the music very well, and though they are seemingly unique at first, they are nothing new in this genre. In fact, almost all of this cd, though well done, brings basically nothing new to the table. I will give them credit for using some creative chord voicings throughout the EP though...similar to that of No Knife.
Circus is the best song on the record, because it is a fairly heavy song, and contrasts nicely with a cd of mostly softer songs. With a catchy rhythm, and unique but equally catchy chords, this song is difficult to forget.
If emotionally driven indie/rock post/hardcore is indispensable for you, then this EP is a must have. It is a fun listen, and very well written, but nothing I haven't heard before.
