Imperfect, but all the better for it. 'Do What Thou Wilt.' finds the Black Hippy alumni off-kilter yet wholey on point, over a series of dark, brooding, and especially atmospheric arrangements. While the vaguely experimental nature of the album doesn't always pay off, it's still an incredibly interesting album, and one that'll be sure to see many top rap release lists come year's end.

j. cole will easily outshine soul when it comes to sales but the exact opposite can be said about
the quality of these projects. while far from perfect, mainly because of some boring beats and
not-too-interesting flows, soulo still comes through with some of the most well-written and
thought provoking verses of the year and the overall dark mood fits like a glove. 3.5+

I have no idea what you guys are listening to. I've never been a fan of Soul's stuff before this (even Control System) and this album absolutely blows my mind. Genuinely funny, complex, lyrically impressive and remarkably consistent, this gives Danny a run for best rap album of the year. Also worth mentioning that the album with the most rapping on it this year also has some of the best hooks of the year as well.
