The vocals of this album are very refreshing and entrancing; its too bad the rest of the album fails to maintain those same qualities. The album starts out strong, but after a while the luster is gone and you just have an OK metal album that, apart from the beggining and a few other moments of brilliance, is uninteresting and gives nothing worth remembering. I thought this would be good because I knew this guys have potential, but this album really failed to reach my expectations.

Let me tell you what every Otep album basically is: poetic nonsense, trite and boring lyrics, and uninspired "songs", wrapped together with a vocal delivery that is so self-absorbent and indescribably awful that it baffles me. This band is highly and most definitely disqualified as a talented band in my book.

A very very strong release with one of the most refreshing and powerful vocal performances I can honestly remember hearing and no pretentious bullshit-Otep spews absolute venom in both her lyrics and her vocals. The band themselves hold up pretty well with some listenable although overly simplistic instrumental performances, the guitar work is reallly good to listen to and the guitar tone is absolutely killer
