"Nothing" was my first Meshuggah album and it utterly redefined groove and changed the way I think about music. This is "Nothing" with amazing production. Acquire this album.

This is the grooviest metal album of all time. I just can't emphasise enough, how much this album has grown on me. It get better with every listen. This is perhaps Meshuggah's most minimalist album to date. The rhythms are so primal, and melodies are almost non existent. The re-release loses some of the warmth and life that the original had, and the programmed drums don't sound as nice, but the guitar tone is much better giving the much needed clarity that the original lacked. The opening track, Stengah, is probably the manliest riff I've ever heard, and Rational Gaze is probably the grooviest metal song I've ever heard. This is just an amazing album.

A wonderful progression of Meshuggah's sound, and probably where they truly find their formula. Syncopated, time-hopping, polyrhythmic riffing/druming with wild vocals and drumming complemented by dissonant leads and amazing jazzy solos. I find this album to drag a good bit, and the last track to be completely unnecessary though.

Slightly improved variation of the original album. Credited this IS a re-release, so it should be expected, but the audio on this track feels slightly improved compared to the original album. Still not a fan of the vocal work...

This remake is not so good. Original Nothing sounds much better. Kids, amazed by modern strong sound, are happy, but original atmosphere is gone. Drums completely without space around them. (If so, then) this album sounds better only on low-end audio systems. If this is your first Meshuggah experience ever, then give this album rating five.

We all know that Meshuggah are masters in terms of technically challenging metal. Their technical monster trash metal never ends and it never stops. But this band has released at least one bad album, and that album is called Nothing. But I'm talking about the re-recorded version, the incredibly dull and slow moving Nothing. Here you will find some of Meshuggah's most uninspired material. The only good things here are the perfect sound production and the bonus DVD material. Only hardcore Meshuggah can enjoy this album so don't even think of getting this. Remember that this is ’’Nothing’’ compared to masterpieces that Meshuggah has created. Only for hardcore Meshuggah fans.
