Their sophomore effort 'Eight Hours Away From Beieng a Man' is a creative album that can stand right along side the other great post hardcore records released around the same time. The band was one of many punk bands at the time to add post rock (i.e Slint) influences into their sound, and maybe none did it better than Roadside Monument. 'Eight Hours...' has such a creepy and forboding atmasphere similar to City of Caterpillars's self titled, and you'd be hard pressed to find a band so adept at using the 'soft/loud' technique.
