The instrumentals are easily a 4.5, but the vocals and lyrics seem like an awkward afterthought in comparison (especially Arguments Against Design and Technology Inaction). After a few listens, they grew on me enough to give this a 4.

The instrumental side of Concepts of Math is fun technical thrash, but vocally and lyrically this EP isn't quite as enjoyable. The vocals remind of Bruce Dickinson crossed with Dave Mustaine's cheesy nerd lyrics. I get it; you like numbers and decimals.

They haven't put out a full album since 1989 (only releasing some singles in 2010 and 2015, all of which made it on this EP], but age hasn't stopped them from putting out this totally kickass EP. Definitely their heaviest release yet. Book 2 (or the full Mathematics album that this is pieces of) can't come soon enough!

A blistering EP showing that Watchtower haven't lost any of their magic over the last 25 years of inactivity. Again, the vocals are really the only issue, as the instrumentals are amazing, arguably even better than before. Ron Jarzombek somehow sounds like he's become even better, and overall this just rules!
