A gorgeous album that cements Saor's place as a folk/ethnic metal visionary. "Hearth" might be the best song of 2016.

Falls just short of his last release but Andy Marshall sure has his finger on the very pulse of what Saor is. Guardians adds to a sure legacy being built from record to record. Falling just short of an hour's run time it's easy to get swept away in these compositions.

The music is beautiful, but I found myself getting bored frequently. The melodies tended to all blend together, and many of the transitions seemed arbitrary and awkward. There was too much fluff (but it was pleasant fluff) between any stirring and memorable moments.

This album was amazing, and was a certainly more melodic affair then previous albums. The riffs shine through and the melodious beauty is just as present if not more than on Aura, HOWEVER Austin Lunn's drumming off of Aura was certainly my favorite.

probably his most experimental album yet. needs more time to sink in, but first few listens are
definitely between a 3.7 and 4.1 for me. that being said, the last two records took a fair amount
of playtime before they really kicked in, and I am hoping for the same here. pretty moody stuff,
Autumn Rain has one of the most beautiful intros Marshall has yet written.
