A pretty good look at the missing pieces from both Hot Fuzz and Sam's Town, while the Sam's Town styled tracks (which tend to be darker) are easily the best here, The Hot Fuzz left-overs still have a bit of charm to them (Ballad of Michael Valentine). It's not a great listen-through though as nothing really flows and it ends with a dull string of remixes and covers.

Very good album highlighted by one of the best covers I've ever heard in The Killers' version of Joy Division's "Shadowplay", somehow turning one of the darkest highlights of post-punk into a dance-punk slice of absolute magic. Their cover of "Shadowplay" is reason enough to listen to this album in and of itself.

Sawdust was a great album in my opinon. Of course this is nothing compared to the Hot Fuss album, but this is something like indie/rock/prog./classic. the B-Sides are very well done, and I really Really liked this album. Its more laid back with a little higher beat tracks involved.

For a cd of "B sides" this is a solid release comparable to their other LP's. Some songs deviate from their usual style (especially tranquilize) which surprisingly works very well and is probably the highlight (for me at least) of the album. Worth checking out if you like The Killers.
