Ah, so THIS is the new album that Brand New promised us eh?
Edit: all this EP is doing is convincing me that they should re-make Fight Off Your Demons and not
even bother with a new album.

1996 and Brothers Song are two songs that quite frequently get stuck in my head despite not hearing them in over six years. This EP reworks those two tracks as well as the poppy, witty song, "Missing You" and bring fresh life to songs most fans assumed Brand New forgot about. These tracks aren't perfect, despite being recreated from demos, certain parts come out flat, but it's a nostalgic summer drive for those still Fighting Off Their Demons. 3.6/5

These are great songs, but the 06 demos remastered were perfect as is. Brother Song is more effective as an acoustic, missing you is sorely lacking that brilliant sythesizer, and 1996 is indecipherable from its original. Good but unnecessary

I still enjoy the demos and may even prefer their charm, but it's nice to hear these tracks "updated" and reworked as if they were new songs.

Definitely enjoyed this. The original tracks still retain the majority their charm, with the
bonus of fully developed instrumentals and being properly produced. With new life freshly
breathed into these tracks, they take on a new meaning. Although, certain nuances contained
in the original tracks are lost in translation between the reworkings and the originals, but
not everything can be completely retained.
