In many ways, this is like a better version of the debut record: short, chaotic metal songs with the vocals serving as another instrument. There's some sort of concept here, where each song represents a day in the month of April (as per the song titles), that I don't totally get. Nonetheless, this is an enjoyable outing. Of course, some material gets lost in the shuffle, but it's still a blast.

Bizarre- and I mean that in the best possible way. This is a record of what can perhaps be best called 'audio sketches,' but really any description I could write wouldn't do it justice. I recommend listening to this and making sense of it yourself. (Yes, I'm aware this is a cop out thing for a reviewer to say, but eh.) 4.1

The spastic insanity in the music of Fantomas is so unlike anything heard before in music before that it really has to be heard to be believed. Suspended Animation is a 30 track album, with very few songs exceeding 2 minutes in length, all of them walking a thin line between coherence and all out chaos. Unsurprisingly vocalist Mike Patton wrote all the music and provided a very fitting performance, filled with shrieks and noises that only he could pull off. Though, the highlight is Dave Lombardo's spot on drumming. Obviously the album is highly inaccessible to most but it is highly recommended to anyone that enjoys avant-garde music

Certianly not a horrible album, and probably the best this avant-garde supergroup has to offer. Mike Patton and co. have made an album that is the audio equivalent of that fucking tunnel from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and i loved every second of it, even if it did start to start to sound like the same song over and over again after the 15 minute mark.
